suggestions for a smaller 20-26ft, single inboard, fast hull.
I'm looking at getting something a little bigger then i've had before. I don't really want twin engines. I would want something to run into the 70+ mph range. I've had some smaller 24degree deadrise donzi style boats that would run 65gps with single smallblock. I boat in and around Jacksonville, FL and the river up here can get a little rougher than my hydrostream vking can handle, i've had it to 96gps breaking in my new 280 outboard. I know i can't expect crazy speeds, just something i can still trailer and launch. I really liked my Four Winns donzi style boat, it could eat up the river chop and sounded good. I just don't realy like the donzi's, you are sitting up too high in them. I have been looking at the velocity 22, cigarette 20-21's, i know there are other boats similiar out there. If it was an older hull with newer engine that would be great. I like the older classic hulls. I don't want a project, but don't mind swapping in a motor or such. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks, damon

I had a Strkyer 21 Stealth. Very fast for a 21 with stock 502. They are very cool looking too. If you can find one.

looks nice, i just don't want to spend the coin on a new, or newer boat. I don't think i'm going to find anything as fast as i want with a single inboard....I'm used to running near 100mph in 18-20ft boats. I do like the fact that the boats in the 20-24ft range with deep v can handle any type of water i would encounter in the st johns river, just dont think i'd be very excited with doing only 70-80 in that size boat. Was hoping i cold find something a little faster. I still really like some of the classic 20-21 cigarettes, the 22 velocitys, some of the smaller fountains. I won't be going offshore with them. Saw a couple really nice restored 20 cig's that really look good, just the 60mph speed isn't going to do it.

Want to do 80 +.....then try this www.sutphenboats.com
Get a hold of Morgan. he has a bare hull with a basic paint job he can trick out and get you in that 80 mph area.....it should cost less than a restored 20 Cig |
