Thanks for the suggestions, I am going to stop by Comp USA and see what they have, At least now I have some kind of idea what I'm looking for.

how about the 80 dollar dazzle connection. Uses USP port. Do they work at all.

Like I said earlier I dont think that the $100 boards will do anilog to digital conversion>>>

Correct the cheaper boards will not, but Software like Studio 7 and Premiere will do it. It does have to be rendered out and may take some time. I would spend the extra money on a analog/DV card. Since odds are the next camera you buy will have firewire.
