:bsflag:Bill Taylor (Poker Runs America) has been on a mission since the first part of last week to keep poker runners from attending the Platinum Poweboat club Lake Norman event. There have been phone calls from several people saying that Bill has personally called them and asked them to not attend the Lake Norman event that is happening at the end of this month. This is very sad. A poor turn out will only hurt the kids of Make a Wish Foundation. If you can find the time to forward this or a letter to your clients in support of Puttin on the Wish, Lake Norman event it may help overcome some of the damage that he has done. As of today at 1:30 pm ,71 Make a Wish participants have RSVP'D for rides on July 31st! There is stil 12 days to RSVP for the event. If we pull together we can make this great for the kids!

What is the reasoning??

first post....and there has to be more to this story, just can't see something like this happening out of the blue...

New club will affect the attendance of PRA events.....more competition. PR's are all down in attendance across the board so as a promoter you have to deal with that and now a new club has started up and that will further the attendance slide.

Note that Platinum founding members are guys that have done a lot FPC/ PRA events in the past so they are probably trying to get their friends (also FPC/PRA members) to support the new club.

This is America right? Survival of the fittest and may the best promoter win.......

Poker Runs America is a FOR PROFIT ORGANIZATION. There is your answer. :( That is pretty low if that is what they are doing......

No they are a non profit organization to Benifit The Make A Wish Foundation all funds raised go to help the childrens wishes get granted. you can see what its all about at http://www.platinumpowerboatclub.com/

I am not going to stir the pot on this.
And I am sure That oceanracer is connected to Platinum.

Also I am sure that bill does not want all the hard work that he did to bring a major poker run to lake norman be sent down the road and have future ones blocked from coming. He did an excellant job and thru all the bs he put on a safe and excellant run That hopefully will get bigger as the years come.

Just Bring up the lake norman run post from last year and you will figure out who is oceanracer is or connected too.


And why are they useing all the photo from the pra run on lake norman last year on there website for there club promoting it and there run!!!!!!!!!
