Wolford,
Like I said in my amended note where you slammed me and righty so - "oops - I appologize I said gears but meant gear ratios and prop size" When I do something stupid I can admit to it - my question is really all kidding, heckling aside, give us the math as to how your boat goes 85 mph. As far anything else goes, your probably no different than how we started out exactly 26 years ago, saying "a diesel can replace a gas engine". The reality of boating is no one wants to give up their macho gas engines for a diesel that only lasts 200-300 hours. That is 2-3 hours of hard running, no different than a gas engine costing much less. That defeats the entire reason for diesel in the first place. A diesel with only a 200-300 hours life span unless those are the WOT hours in which case the engine life is now 3,000 hours is not a commerically viable product. It's been proven for over 20 years with even SeaTek who hats off gave it a great try - could not make a viable company (I'd like to see their bottom-line today or 2 years ago) with the limited market there is for low hour high performance diesels. What you describe is no different than me saying "I can make 100hp per cui engines", there is no problem doing that for 3 seconds of hard pulling, if only idled and never hit the throttle they might run for 2 hours???? See my point? |

Simple... It's the way you went around answering the question. Avoided giving your name or affiliation to a company that might help us all on the subject in hand. Extremely sketchy.. Agenda at hand. It is all hear say.. unless proven otherwise. We've seen it here for years..
I keep that in mind, dont ever answer a question. I would like to see a 1000hp dmax? Whats so bad about that. I do know a lot about the engine, not so much the boat. Can I make the engine produce 1000HP, You bet I can. Can I make it last for 300hrs, IDK probably not. But it would be cool while it lasted, and that my friend would make it worth it to me.. |

My boat isn't worth putting the money into. Anywho, I will go back to lurking.

I'd even advise you on how to setup your dream boat, it would go fast while it last.:drink: |

Those little Duramax's won't need drives that large. Our smallest drive will do the job.:D
