i have a 1980 39' cigarette and its a straight bottom with #V's and about 1400 total hp and i tried one pair of 3 blade props from the era of the boat and they have worked the best so far. the 4 blades just dont seem to work as well as the 3 blades
- i have not been able to find any other sets though and would like to try some more sizes in the 3 blade but they are impossible to find
-know of anything around?

What size 4 blades did u try ????
A straight bottom runs nice with 4 blades if they are the right size, SSM props are very dificult to get them right,,because u have many pitch, diameter and rake props.
Also what 3 blades did u try,,,,it would help to know if u are looking for the best prop not just looking for a prop.

4 blades
i have tried 17x30 4 blades which were too big, 16x29 which gave me trouble getting on plane because of the small diameter,17x29 which wouldnt spin enough,
3 blades
i tried a set of 17x30 which worked very well with 0 vibration which was a nice surprise but if i could get a set of 17x31/32 i think those would work best.
- i am full stagger so i cannot go more than 17.5 diameter and it seems i cannot turn anything bigger than a 29 4 blade
do you have anything i am looking for daredevil? thanks for the help

a friend of mine has some 17X28 and 17.5X 27 but only 4 blade.
Also remember u can get them worked a little ,,,not diameter but if u thin them u get more RPM and better bite.
Also the stamped size is always off by 1.5 -2 pitches.
If it says 28 its more like a 30 the diameter is always correct.
This aplies onlyon the older Merc props the newer ones are on the money since they are CNCed.
No 3 blades.
