Default Who made this cat?

Anybody know who made this cat? I think it is a early nineties, ran small blocks around 32 feet.

Wasn't this the boat that was in Brick, NJ, I don't think it ever ran great, it had some trouble don't remember what exactly but Ron Hicks always had an issue with that boat and how they rigged/powered it????

Mike Peters designed Maelstrom....made by Gene Whipp in Western Fla. This was basically a mini Apache Cat.

Were they any good? A friend is thinking about restoring this one and running blown 383 small blocks.
Not sure why he is picking small blocks but that is his choice.
Would be running in the gulf.

As I recall they were more comfortable in calm water and not very competitive on the race course..........There were also some balance problems. Beyond that, the early Peter's designs had a lot of tunnel boat influence and were a "driver's boat" ....... probably not good for a novice.
