Default ethanol question

doing some reading on another board and got a bit disturbed by what I was hearing about the effect of ethanol on engines. I found this info about additives online but it does not look like the additives are really for duke. what do you guys recommend to keep an engine in one piece given todays fuels. thanks.

Ethanol does suck, but as long as you manage your fuel well, as in don't leave it sitting in the tank forever, and keep it treated with additive, you will be fine. I've been using this since I was forced to get Ethanol, and all good so far. It's available at WalMart and just about any boat store.

Brian, thanks for the suggestion. that product looks like one of the better ones tested and with no alcohol.

Brian were you having problems before you started using this? Any idea if this product will deter the issues ethanol has on fiberglass tanks??

That I don't know Wayne. I don't know that there is any solution for you short of bladders. I did have a fuel issue. I got fuel in the Keys that I did not know contained Ethanol. It sat in the tanks for a few months with no treatment, and upon first firing ruined two fuel pumps, two fuel/water separators, and two inline filters in moments.

I've used the Startron many times over the last few years. It's worked great for me. I recommend it as well.

Darrell.
