Time for the boat dealers to buy some locks and chains to secure these boats. At least make it harder for them to steal.

Lake of the Ozarks, Mo. — Eight hours after a vessel was reported stolen from a Lake Ozark broker, it was recovered abandoned in a St. Louis parking lot.
The Lake Ozark Police Department is crediting a private citizen with the discovery.
Officials with the department say the citizen, who is a part-time resident of Lake Ozark, heard about the stolen boat from a news release the agency released.
The boat was taken from Midwest Boat Brokerage located on Bagnell Dam Boulevard on Wednesday around noon.
The boat is a 1999 Donzi 33-foot Daytona that is white with purple racing flags and yellow trim. It is registered out of the Port of St. Charles.
The boat is worth about $85,000, according to information provided by the department.
Within several hours of the boat reported being stolen, the department issued a news release describing the boat.
The citizen read the release and then later spotted a boat matching the description in a St. Louis parking lot.
The Lake Ozark Police Department contacted the St. Louis Police Department to confirm that it was the stolen vessel.
A joint investigation with the St. Louis City Police has led to several suspects in the case, according to information provided by the Lake Ozark Police Department.
The investigation is ongoing.

GREAT NEWS!! They arrested the guy that stole our boat today!! The Detectives in Osage Beach have been working their tail off on this case and I'm glad to see it pay off for them!!!

BTW, To bring everyone up to speed they did recover my boat, but it had been stripped and dumped at a Truck Stop south of St. Louis.

That's cool. Glad they caught the loser. Hopefully you end up okay with your boat.
