with 4 peep's and a full tank of gas . i bet if you loose some weight out of the boat it will hit high 80's maybe 90 mph .
im sure the boat is sensitive to weight and that's a lot of it .
you know when they test there is one guy in the boat and maybe 20 gallons of gas .

i am pretty sure that I read in one of the magazines that the 496 boats are running 1.65 ratio's

A 1.65 ratio would make sense. 5050 rpm at 83 mph is 10.5% slip.
