Another vote for Julington Creek/ Mandain area. You're accesible to just about anywhere in 20 min. and plenty of water access. I've got a good friend who is a property manager. He might be able to help you find a place. PM me if you're interested in his number.

Lived in Jax for 8 yrs, lived in Southside, kept the boat at NAS Jax ( while on Active Duty) it offered great boating, and as most others have said lots of accessable areas from there.
