Nick Carter Racing
Does anyone know where the Nick Carter Racing boat is? Any pics?
Thanks: Matt |
It was sold to Dave Branch(Muscle Racing) and has since become an open cockpit pleasure boat.
|
I saw the boat in person at TNT in florida about 7 or so years ago. I have pictures of it somewhere.
|
I still have the T-shirt....

Another in a long line of temporary stop offs in the sport by a celebrity. Is he still active in show business?
|
Nick's father was/is a long time Offshore race fan. Nick bought a competative boat for his father and supported his racing for a few years, whats wrong with that? Does it make any difference where the money came from? Some people just complain about everything....

90210's Jason Priestly. Your sport has happily swallowed every line of sh*t dangled in front of it for the past 10 years.... If you are one of the many minions who swallowed the malarkey .........wise up. T2x |

Now as far as complaining is concerned that should be left to the guys who got hit but that other celebrity who couldn't drive and damn near killed a bunch of boat racers...(and later damn near killed himself in an open wheel car)

If that had not occurred Nick Carter Racing might still be with us today. Don't you feel better now Mr. Luhrs? "Flash in the pan" indeed. |

t2- if you weren't complaining, it sounded pretty condescending and negative. From my perspective, organized boat racing needs any and all help it can get. Flash in the pan or not, I'd bet NC brought more attention to the sport than would have been there had he not participated. I'm not a NC fan or BSB fan, but thought it was cool that he did that for his father. |

First off Nick wasnt in the boat , Niether was his father, after some testing with Lee Murray, Dad needed depends! he was in way over his head.
I cant remember his name but a Dr from KW drove the boat. T2x hit the mark. |
Wasn't Mark Lafloy in the boat AKA lobster boy on here
|
NO Dan Campbell was in the 50 Jag when it crashed. Lobsterboy was set up to run a different boat the following year under the NC banner but they never actually ran....
|
lol. tough crowd!

Anybody heard from him?? |
If you own the boat that Bob Carter drove to the world championship in 2003 does that make it worth more? :grinser010:

Yeah, I agree too.
t2- if you weren't complaining, it sounded pretty condescending and negative. Sometimes the facts sound negative and condescending....but they're still the facts. It's also not always possible or adviseable to put a positive "spin" on rubbish. How does "Hitler, a very creative and dynamic guy, got a little carried away every now and then." sound to you? Sounds like B.S. correct? Well, so does all of the silly P.R. platitudes about celebrity children "taking care" of their parents.......and how much it does (or "can do" ... Pardon the pun) for "the sport". None of the celebrities who passed through the "sport" on the way to the next best thing left so much as a grain of sand that is useful to the racers of today.......... What they did leave behind was an artificial and temporary aura of success to the other participants and kept their attention away from solving the ongoing lack of a competition model that bedevils the game month after year after decade. It also somehow made other racers, especially in the little boats, feel like "somebody" to know that Don Johnson wet them down in a turn. Until we return to actual boat racing between talented people who make their "name" from their skills and desire for true competition, all of this other nonsense will have to pass as "The sport". T2x do you recall what jason said happen? and after the car wreak I think he called it quits and went back to the stage
I clearly recall that he did not blame himself...and there was something about not being able to see over the dash... :D I also recall that after his car racing career ended in repeated disasters....... he blamed his pit crew. T2x |

T2x ok, I understand what your saying. The hitler thing is a stretch, but I hear what your saying. I gather you have been around quite a while and truly know your stuff. All due respect though, I gotta say- you sound like an ornry old cuss who's pissed at the world around him! |
I'm sure if Nick Carter was around 20 years earlier and raced a Conquest Cat we would be hearing how great he and his crew were....
Or perhaps if Nick was a drug dealer who wanted a 30 Shadow, (just like the "celebrities" that pass thru the sport), I'm sure that would be different...:bong: |

Damn...Godwin's Law in effect! T2X loses this arguement!

I cant remember his name but a Dr from KW drove the boat. Too funny!! I've been in a race boat with Mr lee Murray and think most people would exit the boat with at least there eyes opened a little bit wider. Jo |

That's a far cry from running a GPS controlled runabout in a closed course on a lake. I'm not defending the bad guys....just putting them in perspective. You may look down your spotless, crime free, holier than thou nose at them...but I betcha you wouldn't want to tangle with them...either in a race....or a street fight. T2x |
