Is Martin on this board? I'd love to ask him a few questions about his 300XS's and Spectre 30.

John...If they were xs, they would have said Opti-Max on them. I thought they were X's also.
I don't remember seeing optimax either. But Hey, there's alot of chit I don't remember, after a long day on the water. |
They were 300x's........not xs.

He ran 111+ with my 3 blades one time....and 105-108 a bunch of times.

Anybody have any experience with the XS?
I know with my 300 Promax's and 15X32 Merc Cleavers (not lab), I can run 93-94 pretty much any day of the week, even with hot weather, a lot of fuel, and passengers. If I'm low on fuel, I usually see 95-96 MPH. My best runs ever (i.e. Fall, cool weather, low fuel, etc...) I've seen 98-99 MPH. That's running for miles though. Seems like the X motors run quite a bit faster from what I've read. 105-108 MPH????? Mike |

Are you running 300xs motors?
I'm debating if I want to try for another summer with them vs. buying a new pair of 300XS's. My other thought was to have Eric Simon redo my 300 Promax's. I don't think it makes sense to find a pair of 300X's. Everything is going to have a lot of hours on them and I'm looking for new motors if I spend the money. Plus, I've heard the XS's run similar to the X motors, plus you gain the fuel economy of the XS. Mike |
