Mike. I will see if Bob has a spare carb I can test with.. I have a new 3.5 PV ready to install.. Going to lower the fuel pressure from 7 1/2 to 5 just to see if it makes a difference. I have a Hydro hoist boat lift I do all my adjustments on it in gear..

Update. Fuel pressure set down to 5psi.. power valve left alone..got it to be the best I can.. spoke to dean nickerson for almost an hour..idle out of gear 900 and in gear 650.. clean.. sounds like the cam might not be the best grind for the motor also Hurricane intake might be wrong.. RPM range on the intake is 3500 to 7000.. might switch that next and see where we are at.. thanks all for the advice.

John

Just FYI from experience.

Nickerson sets up his carbs on a flow bench and they're very tempermental when tampered with...

A few times we sent some carbs out to him because we were having idle issues on a boat I was working on and he set them up. I put them on the engines and they ran perfect. Along the way the owner stalled the engine and someone on the dock said "let me fix it boss" and adjusted the idle mixture and I could never get them right again......

I'd try a box-stock carb before messing with the other parts.... I think Kenny (Pro1) had a similar problem a few years ago with BG carb.

Just checked back thru the archives and found this. Not sure if it helps.
