Since we don't know what the other tickets are for, frankly the ones written sound legit. If your driving a rig like that with NO documentation, the LEO is correct to impound it, and I believe he is mandated to. Doesn't give him any excuse to dump you and your kid on the side of the road, but I am sure he is not allowed to place you in the car without handcuffs either..

You would think since he took so long going and back and forth he could have told you something sooner so you could have called someone before he stranded you. I have driven that route dozen of times returing to LI from MI and we made wrong turn in that area one time and let me tell you even being inside a car it is scary place to be. So what finally happened, how did the boat get moved off the expressway and how did you guys get home, I figure you live over an hour from that area, did you get a cab?
