Blew a coupler - how to remove black tar = like stuff
Need some help:
I took out a coupler. When it did, the coupler blew black sticky tar like residue all over.
How do you remove it?????
I have tried Purple Power, Simple Green, acetone, citrus cleaner. . . . .
The only thing that kinda works are Swipe wipes - but only if the tar-like crap is thin. The areas where there are glops, it only smears!!!
So - anyone blown a coupler and had this black tar like crap everywhere? What did you use to clean it off??????
Help

I use laquer thinner/acetone or brake cleaner(the flammable stuff-Brakekleen in the green can). Either of these will take care of it, but it will take some elbow grease. It is a nasty job that is a big giant pain in the ass. Keep working at it and it will come off. Wear gloves and a long sleeve shirt because it is a Bit@h to get off of your skin. Good luck.

Just use a torch, it will come off quickly
