This Site Always Timing Out

It drives me nuts that it seems to always lock up and time out. Every other website I use works fine at any same time I have problems with this one. Point is: it's not my computers or providers...

I really enjoy the forums and the obvious benefits of the membership but geez guys you need to do better!! I've experienced this quite a bit in the past and have NEVER made any type of complaint but it gets harder and harder to keep paying that fee when it never gets any faster or better.

It all started when IB bought the site...thanks Steve!!! (just kidding)

TampaBeach 11-12-2009 09:40 PM

Windows did a update last night on good old Vista, I thought that was the problem, but every other site is working OK???? I am having same issues, locking up, and hell just now I had to use a link to the classified section to even get here, my browser was saying www.offshoreonly.com was disconnected?? WTF does that mean.:lolhit:

frankenstein 11-12-2009 09:52 PM

I guess I go get my laptop out of the garbage, OOOOPPPPS

US1 Fountain 11-12-2009 09:57 PM

Thank god someone else is having the same problems. I've been having this issue for a week or so now, thinking it was on my end.

Anyone else having problems with some of the pages being like 20 miles wide and running off the screen? Happens all the time to me lately. A topic will have several pages, with most just fine, then go to the next page and it runs on forever off the side.

Ditto thought it was me

Not that problem but slow as sh&%.

Been that way for a few weeks.

bert4332 11-12-2009 11:43 PM

This is weird because I was just thinking yesterday that I haven't had a problem getting on in months. About 6 months ago I was really having a bad time with it, but I've good for a while. I remember I was have trouble but others no problem.

Internet Brands is been experiencing an unplanned outage. The tech team is getting their hands around the problem and hopefully we'll become stable shortly. However we can expect intermittent availability.

G-Spot 11-13-2009 07:44 AM

Glad it's not only me.

baja bailey 11-13-2009 08:12 AM

Have had the same problems for some time now as well as slow loads and the time outs. Actually had to hit "refresh" three times to get the quote function to open, kept showing "page can not be displayed".

One thing on a free site, but last I knew we pay for this to work? When we want it to? Not when they feel like fixing it?

Actually right now the smiles to the right side of this page is looking all focked up.

IB destroyed this site.

Programmers must be on strike or maybe a big layoff....

ChristianGott 11-13-2009 07:57 PM

Nearly a decade here and this is quickly becoming more frustrating than fun....speedgirl, any idea on when the site will be back up to "speed"?

frankenstein 11-14-2009 04:35 PM

I couldn't even get on the site at all yesterday

It has been pretty fast this afternoon

US1 Fountain 11-14-2009 04:47 PM

From the announcement at top:

"OSO has experienced intermittent website outages caused by a cyber attack. Our troubleshooting team has resolved the issue, and the site should now be functioning normally. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and apologize for the inconvenience caused by this attack.

Thank you"

Working fine today so far. Hopefully all is good again.

Thanks

ChristianGott 11-14-2009 07:49 PM

ah...HA!
After a sketchy and frustrating disruption to the status quo,
it seems that all systems are back to normal.....excellent!
Stinkin' virus spreaders....
Thanks, OSO...

SpeedGirl 11-14-2009 08:50 PM

the cyber attack took down all of the IB sites - I was told that they weren't leaving the office till the sites were fixed....
