A race has been moved from June to Aug 23-25 is this the ABPA Canada race moved?

I'm going if it is..........which way is the wind blowing on this?

Elaine spoke at the March TOPPS meeting and said the Corpus race is definitely on. (Unless Dredgeking's info is more recent.) Check out http://www.powerboatshootout.com for more info.

Jana what is TOPPS? I talked to FA18DRIVER on another boat board and I guess he said he was a member and going down to be a patrol boat.......sounds like fun. Are you a member? Are you doing that too?

TOPPS is the Texas Offshore Performance Powerboat Squadron - the local performance boat club (http://www.toppsboatclub.com). I just joined recently. I will go to the Corpus race, but only as a spectator. I don't have a tow vehicle and really enjoy hanging out around the pits. Not a bad view from the seawall.

If they have the race on Aug 24th & 25th, That's not gonna help those of us, (race teams) who have promised to be at the Ozarks "Lake Rescue Shootout" on the same weekend.
If this is true, I hope they reconsider their date...

hey gordo, i know the schedule is messed up. but if they change it again, i'm going to blow a gasket. too many changes so far this year. i am hoping the change to august means that they have signed with apba. i'll email elaine tomorrow and see what's up.

I agree. I loved racing in Texas. The drive down sucks, (ok, ok, ok, I got a speeding ticket for 93 on the way home), But I do like the venue. I just hope they do it the same week that they were going to do Canada rather than a week later.

i haven't heard back yet. i just stripped race hatch and other race gear out of my boat tonight. i'm tired of the hassle. i might run the sbi race if they go to new orleans, but other than that it'll be a poker run or something year. screw racing. texas sucks enough for offshore boating as it is. they don't need to make it worse on us by jacking with our only race.

oh well.
