You went with the little blower's huh?

LOL !

tx911 12-27-2009 05:31 PM

wow!! That is a big a$$ blower.

dykstra 12-27-2009 06:06 PM

Way cool, awesome!

thisistank 12-27-2009 06:31 PM

What did you do with the Teague 1000's that were in your boat?

Back4More 12-27-2009 06:32 PM

Details, details.....:party-smiley-004:

GLH 12-27-2009 06:35 PM

Remember it's only the fastest once you have hit it! Looks good on the floor but in the rig, in sh!t and at speed is the only way it counts!

motors are 588 ci, dart big m heads, whipple dual cuppernickel core intercoolers with psi screw blowers, with 1300 cfm pro system carbs, hoping to make over 1500 hp on a soft pump gas tune up, like to buy a cat this summer, 40 ft should be fast?? gona have a little fun in my lead sled 42' tiger first this spring!

JasonSmith 12-27-2009 07:17 PM

That top pulley is too big. So is the bottom one. If the inside of the top one hasn't been machined, it is too small.:evilb:
I'm with GLH, if it hasn't done it yet, it isn't the fastest yet.
Good luck!

Back4More 12-27-2009 08:13 PM

Transmission's?

Do you consider 116 pump gas? Standard heads?

JS, can you please explain your pulley theory in depth and also estimate the PSI blower's boost, relative to the combinations that you would suggest, that could be optimal for voodoo racings desires ? re:42 Tiger PS: GLH what was your gear in the #6's and what wheel did you spin when you achieved your MAX top speed. Gatorone 93.

Are you saying 1500hp on 93 octane and standard heads

I'CE 12-27-2009 09:37 PM

Let's see what voodoo says ! you know the answer/you been there, done IT

Hello Gatorone, not sure what u mean by standard heads, aluminum, conventional maybe, was going to run big chiefs heads but worried about geometry issues, i am a realist though and understand we may not achieve these numbers on 93 oct. in my opinion detonation would be our enemy on making big hp on pump gas, u cant see in the pics, but i have methanol injection which should aid a little in detonation as additional boost is applied, do you have expierince with similiar engine combos?

GATORONE 12-27-2009 09:59 PM

I think 1500 is a lil ambitious on pump gas

Yup

Can't compress 93 OCT to get that much horsepower without detonation...

SHAWN DAVIS 12-28-2009 10:43 AM

It's pump gas if its pumped from a drum into the boat right?
Looks good Doug, But Toni's going to have to find another place to sunbathe once them things are sticking out the boat!

Talk to "saxman" on OSO. He and his father are running almost the same combination, with the PSI's as you are, in a 42 Black Thunder. Dennis, the dad, has a lot of experience with the combination and would be a great source of information. The boat is a rocket ship. He has run his at the LOTO shootout several times. Here is what It may look like in your Cigarette

I'CE 12-28-2009 01:37 PM

any more photos above the PSI's detailing the injection and fuel delivery plumbing ? nice choice in headers too ! thanks

you know they cannot even get close to that.. , maybe for a three second dyno pull but in real life with something that is going in a boat and going to live... I want to bring our dyno to the key west poker run and set it at the conch where we can have a hose ran out into the ocean to keep the engine and dyno cool and have all the big engine builders bring down an engine and we could run them for 20 min wide open and sample the output three times a second the entire time and average it and who ever has the most wins a prize. we could have a 91 octane pump gas class and an unlimited class.... we need to get some sponsors for this and have a $50,000 prize....
the bad part is us and you would probably be the only ones to show up because everyone else would know they cannot make these big numbers they claim..

any takers?????

VooDoo detonation is always the ENEMY !!! inj sounds like a real cool idea what boost are you planning on running with them PSIs ???

No, its not.

Voodoo - the Big Chief heads are great flowing heads but require lots of upkeep/maintenence..

He knows all about detonation from dealing with the other blowers...
And he's also been in the 5.90's at 240 in a doorslammer:eek:

GATORONE 12-28-2009 05:49 PM

great....he will be lucky to be on plane in 5.9 sec's...good comparison

will your boat plane in 5.9 seconds? Build your own motors?
He has had a little help with this combo, we have been running big screw blown bbc's in our boats over 6 years, can make over 1400 hp and have been over 170 many many times. And NEVER hurt a single piston, headgasket, valvetrain componet.

dogghouse 12-28-2009 08:47 PM

Bottom line, Voodoo's goals of 1500hp on 93 octane are lofty. Perhaps you should let him, the boat owner, respond from now on.
