Hands down the kids would want to be at the beach at Ft Myers, Tarpon Point has no beach and same with Sanibel resort.
I will reiterate about Sanibel and Captiva the NoSeeUmms are a killer this year. I have been going out there on a weekly basis for work for 5 years. I oversee and repair 2 nice houses directly on the beach in South Seas Resort. The NoSeeUms are so bad somedays i can barely work .If the wind is not blowing out of the west the bugs will kill you.

Pink Shell is nice but Terry Sobo has a pool, a fridge stocked...4 bedrooms to tear up and a Nor-tech full of fuel that you could use FREE OF CHARGE...and Terry's one hell of a babysitter...it dont get any better than that.

looking to stay in Ft Myers in early march ( warmer than clearwater?)
where to stay? any recommendations
family of 4. kids 11 and 8 yrs old
would like a condo. but larger hotel resort good too
would like a pool
on the water
close to things
is ft myers beach nicer sand than the sanibel and captiva

Pink Shell Resort is the place! Very kid friendly, babysitting, lots of activities for the kids, awsome beach front rooms, great pools for kids and adults, walking distance to the pier, and yes a place to dock your boat or rent boats right on site at the resort.
