Huh? That boat has some history and some technical achievements, so that is why people are saying it SUCKS that it is now no longer floating. Do you have a boat? If not.....no wonder you don't understand. If you do....well, why wouldn't you appreciate the technology and achievements of the vessel?

I have 2 boats. Should one sink...sure I would be a little bummed, but I wouldn't be writing eul's. Are you saying that the jeep didn't change the course of automotive adventure?? surely you have never ventured from the pavement.

To me the definition of an activist in today's society is someone who finds a problem and tries to use it to create publicity, a left wing power base, and a cash flow....while in no way solving the actual problem. This is the basis for everything from Planned Parenthood to Al Qaeda and IMHO the politics and principles are very similar in all of them. The idea is a big power grab, appeal to the ignorance, fears or sympathy of the populace, pretend you're Robin Hood, and fuel it by stealing (either from tax increases, "donations", or outright theft) from the millions of people who simply want to work hard, raise their families, and have a couple of bucks left over to enjoy here and there.

We have a government in the US currently which is the logical product of this "activism", a bunch of power mad, corrupt, socialist/communists, who grew up in the "revolutionary 60's and 70's" and think that scum like Che Guevara (the genius who gave us airplane hijacking as a political "statement") should be idolized and put on tee shirts for ignorant college students to wear proudly.

You are in Australia, which seems to be a more conservative environment. You should kiss the ground for that conservatism and, if you insist on signing up for anything, enlist yourself in a grass roots movement to stop One World Marxism.....the media backed cancer that threatens all of us. If we all had strong common sense based governments, then problems like Japanese whaling, Chinese fish poaching, illegal immigration, Venezuelan dictators, and wacky Muslim suicide/murder groups could all be dealt with quickly and logically.

Nuff said......

G'day mate.

your 100% right as always nice one T2x

another case of do as we say, not do as we do.

Japanese authorities have criticised the environmental activist group Sea Shepherd for abandoning a vessel at sea, apparently leaking fuel and debris.

The Ady Gil was crippled in a collision with a Japanese whaling ship in the Southern Ocean on Wednesday.

Sea Shepherd spokespeople have repeatedly claimed the boat had sunk, and on Friday the activist group abandoned the scene.

But Japanese authorities have released photographs which show the Ady Gil wreckage is still afloat in pristine Antarctic waters.

The official Institute of Cetacean Research said an oily substance thought to be fuel was leaking from the wreckage, "raising concerns that Sea Shepherd is willfully polluting the Antarctic environment".

A Japanese vessel salvaged part of the severed Ady Gil hull and some arrows.

The institute called on Australia and other countries to prevent Sea Shepherd's "vicious" sabotage of the whaling fleet.
