On my old laptop, I had to go use firefox to make this site even slightly useable (IE7 or IE8 would take minutes to load anything). With my new laptop, IE8 works fine, as does Firefox, both are just as fast, by fats, I mean click and the next page opens almost immediately. Both pcs had the same antivirus, antispam, paid malwarebytes, spybot, etc on them. Same ISPs in all the locations I use my laptop.

I have no idea why the difference.

Oh yeah I almost forgot all the ads make the speed slow I visit this ite 10 extra times a day (which I'm sure everyone does it make the traffic look like a lot more for the advertisers when you are forced to close out and come back) It took 3 minutes after I hit submit for this to post and I have the highest speed dsl there is to have.

You don't get all the ads with a paid membership. If I get on a work computer and don't log in, there are tons more ads.

Do the advertisers have say because they spend money??? Is someone above everyone else??? I remember when I joined it was different now if you have a valve spring for sale and mention it your thread is gone. I will never pay to be a member here again because I could get booted at any time and it would be a waste of money just because someone disagrees with me. I'm sure IB does not care because they get there money from the traffic by sellling ads. But a few people here take it way to seriously. Yes people still come here but like me I get about 2% boating info from this site and 98% bs. I actually come here to see drama as obviously everyone does just look at the most popular threads. I just wondered if there is one induvidual to thank for turning this into a gossip website with 2% actual info.

Wha wha wha...... :D It's technology! It always screws up at some point!!!

Here in 2002

Here in 2003

.........and I'm sure a ton more issues over the years.

That is why people are migrating over to the "other site"

That is funny......then they come back to the original....even the "owners" come here to OSO. SOS has just taken the place of hotboat.com which is fine. Keeps the blah blah blah social crap there and not here. :D :D
