What seems to be the going rate for these things? I've seen them for around $1,500, but that's a little more than I would want to spend on one. Does anyone make them cheaper? (I don't think mine would need to be a custom made platform. I don't have anything in the way and it's a pretty standard 8'6" beam).

A new tubular swim platform will run $1500-2500. Keep your eyes on the classifieds and on ebay for used. They will go for about half that.

I think I'd be willing to pay $750... I just can't justify spending $1,500 on a swim platform for a $16K boat... I'd rather do something that makes sense like get rid of it and spend $40k on a boat that doesn't really do anything more than mine!

Might as well add this company to the Swimplatform thread to keep it going for others looking for a new Swimplatform. They are in AZ, But they are custom made fiberglass style platforms it looks like.

For $750 I think you could buy one in styro-foam:party-smiley-004:
I actually know someone that will make one locally for $750, but I'm not sure of the bending process... He doesn't have a mandrel bender for the outside tube, he has access to a metal bending process (I should know the name of the metal because I use to work with it) that melts at a very low temp, it fills up the tube, solidifies, and helps keep it from kinking (but it still kinks occasionally...)... |
Bye the way, I also want one but am on the fence about spending the coin and adding weight to an already ass heavy small cat.
