I'm in Navarre (20 miles east of Pensacola) and it got plenty cold... I actually drained my block for the first time ever. I'm pretty sure I would have had problems if I didn't. What kind of Cobalt did you buy?

Bought a 2006 272 out of pensacola. It has been there for 3 weeks and in tallahasse before that. I should know this morning. Anyone know if a 8.1 Gi is closed cooling or is it optional?

Thanks, Derek

Cool boat, my buddy had on 07 272 last year with that same set-up. Right around 60mph. I'm pretty sure that it's not stock closed cooling but there are more knowledgeable people on here that can answer that question. Make sure you do a compression test and check to make sure there isn't water in the oil... It did get pretty cold for a few weeks. Good luck.

Derek,

It gets cold here, but never enough to do the damage you are talking about. I've lived here for 20 yrs... including 89 when it snowed 5 inches.. Still, the daylight hours are warm enough to thaw things out pretty quickly. We have sprinkler systems/ pool pumps...plumbing..etc... protected only by a shelter and have never had a problem.
