Default Looking at 28 cat

I'm looking at a 1998 28 Profile that needs some work. It needs interior and a lower unit. I think I can get it around 14k. Is that a good deal? Or should I just walk away from it.

Thanks

If it seems like too good of a deal, it probably is.. If its just a lower unit (assuming its a bravo 1) you can swap it for a couple grand from ebay or classifieds.. If the motor is in good shape and the hull isnt beat to hell, itd be hard to beat that.. Where is the ad??

Zack, I'd grab it. Thats a price you normally see with an offbrand cat. The profiles are proven lake boats and a blast to drive. Insurance will be killer but on a boat that cheap you may have a few options. I'd get it surveyed tho as a transom or stringer job may be why its priced the way it is.

If it is the one in New Orleans area that it has been sitting outside for a while you may want to look at it closely.
Profie 28 is a nice boat but your 14 can turn into 40 real easy.

Trailer?
When did the Motor run last?
Drive?
Gauges?
+ what you see you need
interior?
lower?

Not trying to discourage you but from a guy in a big project like this I know how fast it adds up.

The 28' PROFILE cat is the old Redline molds great working boat. I would glass up the transom and hang a pair of Merc280 ROS's on the transom and run down some 28' Skaters !
