have ran in big water in my 50v nortech, but it weighed 18,000 lbs, at 60mph, don't believe 10's at 100mph, no way

Two different boats

I don't know what you guys consider 8-10's but go outside your house and look up to your roof (average 1 story) and that is 8 feet. Anyone that can even run 40 in that I would have to tip my hat to. :D

I want a 47 gtx so I can try it out. They are bad ass regardless of their claim.

one of the roughest races was in 02 the cape race those were 6footers in the morning with a 8footer here and there broke my bolsters in the 1st lap and most of the small boats ran 45 or under in the afternoon it got a lil better but the big boats only ran 65 , they were uneven straight up with big holes. two yrs later they called the race off it was calmer out but more wind 5footers we ran 65 to 75 in boxer sutphen 31ft and a36ft skater took a test run at 90 to 100:evilb:

I could see that 47gtx do that saw mike run one of the 1st 42gtx boats in a poker run in 02 7 to 8 footers of newport RI. always rough out there 80% of the time.

Mike, was always in the boat with me...problem with this site is most people don't believe it if they have never done it or don't have a boat capable of doing it.. . You have two choices in that water go slow and get wet and beat or go fast and get on top and hang on

sommerfliesby 02-08-2010 10:06 AM

Bill and Brian...I'm sure you are referring to the Chicago Poker Run on both counts. Waves that day were 6-8 feet, not 10...although there were some huge holes thrown in.

Why not run that fast...if you've got the wallet to repair the damage.

GATORONE 02-08-2010 10:11 AM

I have run in big water numerous times with that boat....I agree Chicago that year was 6-8 ft with an occasional big hole and we ran the boat well over a 100 to the first stop and had no issues with anything on the boat and had nothing to repair unlike many
