PhantomChaos 02-09-2010 10:46 PM

Is that really a 46 with 6 feet of stuff added in the back for the drives?

Young Performance 02-09-2010 10:58 PM

That's a big motor scooter!!!

activatorf1 02-09-2010 11:04 PM

Interesting how they " guide coat " the gelcoat before paint , I do this all the time on old junk , just thought modern mold work eliminate this technique to insure straightness of hull or deck

crazyfast 02-10-2010 11:14 AM

What carbon fiber? looks like guide coat to me....thats the stuff you spray on and sand off....are you referring to the sponsons and sides ? If you are,it is ! I didn't see any carbon.

Smarty 02-10-2010 12:08 PM

Miss Geico ran 210 with that power. I doubt very seriously that a Skater is 40mph faster than a Mystic.

No, no, no.

It's a hull that a dealer backed out on. This boat has nothing to do with Mike Fusco. Fusco is getting Arnesons and 3,000 hp turbines.

Pro1 02-12-2010 08:11 AM

Rik The answer man!! :bigbird:

Hey hope you have a good show!!

With more and more of these engines coming to market, how fast can the Skater 520 go with a pair of these?

Good guess, I sold a 2005 46' with Mercury 1075's and it runs 150mph with 3 people and a load of fuel.

Amazing that such a big boat would run that fast with only 1075s. Do you know its all-up weight(passengers and fuel)? What was the time to plane?

I would like to see someone build a 46 with Gary Collegewood's convertible top. I thought that was a very clever solution to the entry problem.

thisistank 06-23-2010 11:19 PM

Where's the pics of this thing done?

It had 3 around 200lb men +/- and 3/4 tank of gas. As fair as planning we haven't done a drag starts but it come up on plane with very little bow raise.

I think Gary's boat is very cool, most of the time at Desert Storm he was running around slow with the top up.

Here's a pic of the 46'.
