I think you read to much into it. A sit down can be any of the boats mentioned.. You cant stand and drive these boats. As to the coin involved, the original poster made no reference to a 150k...you did.. OL and Statement by the last time I checked were in the 5-800k range... so 300k is affordable. He also stated SET UP FOR POKER RUNS...READ BELOW. Thats my take on it.

What do you think is the best sit down v bot. 35ft on up with Twin stag. no canopy set up for poker runs is?

In the real world ! no $$$$$ outerlimits or statments.

If they didnt handle right, Peter would change them. Only perfection comes out of the Skater factory, but for the money the 42 PR Fountain runs very well.

Gary864 02-17-2010 09:41 AM

I think my Phantom will runn as fast or faster with equal power as the Donzi, Cig or Outerlimit. With about 650 a side (not staggered) it will touch the low 100's. 3 man Front bolster. Cool looking. Affordable to boot. Mine is a 99. It is a great rough water boat also.

Down side is they will be tough to resale as most people around here never heard of Phantom. This might not be a issue for you as your in Fla where they are made.

AGREED,

I run mine the way it should be run, without any issues..

AGREED,

Once again..:evilb:

did they ever build a 42'PR with 700's??

chattviper 02-17-2010 01:33 PM

Yep, 600's w XR's...Not at all. I dont abuse it and its been great on my lake. Now, in rough water it might be a diff story. I'm guessing here but I would think the issues on 42's w XR's is the Executioner and Lighting....much heavier than the PR

Thank you pm203!

We can get you into the new 41 Pantera in a sit down configuration (like some of the old Apaches, he, he), with reliable 700s, in the triple digits, and in the affordable range....it won't matter whether you are in a lake or outside in rough stuff......

If they weren't both 250-300K those are great boats!

chattviper 02-17-2010 03:40 PM

the top cap on the drive wasnt tightened down...water entered..boom. So, i dont consider that one valid.

JO - PANTERABOATS 02-17-2010 05:16 PM

We offer our Pantera 36' as a sitdown seamless 35' version that can be powered by either a side by side or staggered engine set up.

Boat is very fast in smooth or rough water.

Here is a video link from Keywest. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAmz0kVWRoo

There are a lot of good hulls out there, that being said i bought a 2004 donzi 38zrc last year and i can honestly say it is one of the best handling and performing boat v-boat i have ever driving,i have owned a lot of boats over the years and have driven almost all of them ,been in the hp boat business for over 20years.I like the staggered set-up and the 2003-2004 hulls are priced very reasonable, priced about the same as the gladiators, only problem not many built and not a lot for sale

MrOffshore 02-17-2010 10:49 PM

Poker Runs are about flash, so let's forget about the $$$$...if you just want hi performance, flash and great handling put yourself into a new Vector 40...you can rest assured you won't see another one and afterall isn't individuality what it's all about?

Sexy styling, love the graphix, makes the boat look longer than it is. A fast, great-handling hull. Too bad Donzi never built a wraparound windshield though.

How is it getting behind the wheel? Powerboat mag said it's very tight, but I think their problem was Teague's fat belly. :D

I hope somebody steps up and makes it happen with somebody's big power, but the turbo motors just make so much sense in terms of efficiency and longevity. Tommy says he's solved the lag problem too, plus he's a lot cheaper than the new Merc turbomotors.

This ZRC is probably the nicest looking one I have seen.

The new Vector 40 is different, I'll admitt . But, it is one odd looking boat bordering on ugly and probably would be one very tough boat to resell. And, I think that the individual who started this thread is looking to conserve $$ and is looking for used or something priced reasonably.
