Agreed 2 different boats. However, my point is that for $400K or so, you could have a almost new 700 42 Cig, maybe even with warrantys. Just doing price comparisons.
The Cig at grove harbor?? If so then Id really take this OL!! This OL is in better condition than that Cigarette is FYI.

I am excited to see a boat in that league with reasonable power.

I know it might not be a top flight boat from a power standpoint, and I know that it might be a hard resale but speaking from an ownership standpoint -

For a guy like me it would be nice to know that you could put reasonable power in a boat like that with reasonable drives and not have that monkey sitting on your back that if you blow a 1075 or some exotic non-merc power that you aren't out 50k, and that you don't have $80k of #6 drives hanging off the transom.

It makes the idea of owning one of those boats somewhat palatable to me, and a reasonable goal to strive for in the future. I could never afford a 300k boat and 50k/year in Maintanenance, but maybe one day a 300k boat and 10k/year in Maintenance.

Disclaimer - the above logic comes from a guy who lives paycheck to paycheck so take it for what it's worth.

That's why he got it that way! He's the type of boater that likes to boat every weekend and take long trips.... Reliability was key and the lack of headaches was also key.... All his boats have had stock merc power... The 45' Sonic with triples had 500 efi's, the first 51' 575sci's and now this one with 600sci's.

He's an entreprenuer and works his butt off Mon-Fri. and come Sat/Sun. he always wanted to be able to get in the boat and go....

This boat has fulfilled his needs and then some.

I think it's a good choice for power for a tripp boat, I would go bigger on twins with 6's but it's almost a law that an OL go over 90 mph. I am in the market but it's still a little out of my range, I want to see the one for thats listed for 350k and getting ready to drop more. I see none out there for that low and the only one I see that I think it could be is that silver and purple one at LCM and that boat is fugly, and I like silver and purple plus any 50+ foot boat with a cabin like that should have a full padded hatch. So tack on another 10-20k to change the cockpit and hatch and some other things.......

That would stink to spend all that cash on a boat and have to work on it. At least this boat has sealed merc power so those issues have never existed.

Yeah, like me, he is not the most mechanically inclined guy so every little thing that went wrong with the boat needed "professional" help. And it was his first boat. Obviously he wasn't thrilled to miss out on most of last year's season while the boat was being fixed. He is looking for something a little more simple and less loud since he just bought a house on Cape Cod and doesn't want to scare his new neighbors.
