Got a great deal and its a good looking boat. The wife picked it out too. Only thing I'm worried about is it have the 502 mag mpi motor which i believe is 415hp. It has a mirage plus 25p prop. It should be a decently quick boat? good acceleration? I wish it were nice enuogh to take it for a spin and find out for myself

I just got my 1st real power boat. I just got a 2000 Checkmate 259 with a 502 mag in it. Has al the goodies with trim tabs, indicator and hydraulic steering. I hope this turns out to be a good boat. Has a mirage 25p 3 blade prop now so i'm hopeing he boat is decently quick and can break the 60mph mark.

and my prop had 2 bent blades I didn't notice when I bought it, so that 502 is more than enough to get well into the 60s in stock form).Got any pics?

Like all the others said, you have a nice boat there. It is a well made all around perf boat. I have a '96 253 with a 502 mpi turning a 4 blade Bravo 1 24P @ 5000 rpm and it goes in the mid 60's pretty easily. You should easily see the same results I would think.
Congrats and remember
