Killer motors BTW.

skater did not get the boat done till the week of the shootout so we went to loto and tried dialing it in but there was not enough time to finish it before the run so we decided not to try to go fast in a brand new boat with no seat time..

we have been running it around grand the the last couple weeks... here is a video of us running down the lake a couple days ago...

this was not trying to make a high speed video... just a video of us running around so we would have record of rpm and speed at different points so we could figure our prop slip trying different set ups.

youtube compresses the video so it is hard to read the numbers on there but on my computer we can read them.. I will try to upload to vimeo and see if its better there..

in the video at 55-5600 rpm and 3 lbs boost we are running 160 mph.. with a 40 pitch prop and 1.15 gear ratio in the #6..

Tyson, what's the deal with the smaller exhaust pipes on the back of the boat that are above the bigger ones?

Noticed the michigan plates, its that just a "borrowed trailer/plate" or is the boat staying in Michigan?

Very cool ride, always neat to see something innovative. It was only a matter of time as turbos have come a LONG way and add in modern EFI and you've got quite a setup. Great job.

Those are wastegate exhausts. The wastegates control the boost pressure by bypassing any extra exhaust gasses not needed to achieve the desired airflow (boost) from the turbos. In some applications (Merc 1300/1350's for example), the wastegate exhaust can be shared with the primary exhaust downstream of the turbo, but that can sometimes create boost control issues.

yep... what he said...
we were going to have the wastegate pipes go right into the main exhaust right behind the turbo like we did when we made them for the dyno but cmi said they could not do that.... when we get time this winter we are going to remake them ourselves so there will only be two main exhaust pipes so it will look better in the engine compartment..

Boat will stay in Oklahoma. The boat and and the mills are even more beautiful in person. I can't wait for a ride.:drink:
