Box anchor works great. Here is how I store mine under the back seat. A large is good size for a 35'.

I have the small and it doesnt hold my 33PP. I would go with the large.

What kind of lake bottom are we talking about here: hard/stony, muddy, sandy, weeds, etc? In the case of anchors, it's different horses for different courses. What works in one area may not be worth a d@mn somewhere else. I carry two different types onboard.

My Box worked in varying bottoms, slipped a bit in the weeds but I couldn't even hook my old anchor in that crap.

Fortress...hooks every time. Holds so hard, last fall at the Potomac River radar run, I had to leave it on the bottom when a storm blew up. Couldnt get it to unhook. Put a bouy on it and came back the next day to get it. Box anchors are heavy and awkward. I got a medium or a large not sure, have to check. Some one could get it cheap, if they want it.

The only thing that I've found that works in weeds is some sort of plow anchor. I use a lightweight 2-piece anchor called a HydroBubble. It has an aluminum shank and stainless plow. The PVC chamber insures that it lands right-side up. (Of course, I had to bling up my personal anchor...) Great anchor in sand as well, but the company closed when the owner passed away.

For sand and mud: Fortress all the way. Rocky or hard-packed bottoms are tough no matter what. I could see why the box anchor might work well in those areas, and therefore why it's popular in the reservoir out west

Since i'm going to be anchoring in the mud most of the time the fortress might make more sense. Who has the best prices? Thanks.

I anchor in the mud all the time in Havasu. I have a 28 howard sportdeck and with the bimini up and a strong wind you need a large box anchor. I carry a large and small. They fold and they are not that heavy. No chain, hold well. Go on the website for info. slideanchor.com
