It depends on whether your engine is raw-water cooled or close-cooled. In raw-water applications, you can damage engine gaskets and seals if you get too much pressure.

In all cases, you could blow a hose off and have to man the buckets....

These are in Jim Lee's Freedom. Mounted at the top of the strainers. That's a flush line on the right and a #16 dump on the left.
