But being a one-off kills it's value, IMO.

I guess you'd agree it's like bootleg Comanche's then.

From the creator, the boat was never designed to be the fastest boat on the water or like the flat bottom step boats of today. I guess it's sort of like the 42 X cigs, they're slower than OL's, Fountains etc by a large margin. When it was first propped it ran 97-98 mph in salt water.

In addition, the boat was never dialed in so if someone wanted to dial it in futher would probably see even more improvement.

Depending on what apples you're comparing, the boat is roughly 7-10 mph faster than a "pleasure" 41' Apache with similar power. For comparison, this one runs 90 with 1000 hp; http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o28542-en.html; http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o31451-en.html

It would be interesting to see a new one built with newer technology such are coring and newer laminate schedule. Maybe one day business will improve so I can see for myself but right now that's a pipe dream for me.

There is a new one with new technology!

It is called PANTARA

The new Thad Allen / Apache 42

Pantara is the future for this design.

With some old style que's this boat is full of current technology if you still like the Apache style this is the boat to look to

The Chief was never properly dialed in

It needs spacers in the drives and alot of prop testing

but going just under 100 is respectable and i have run the boat in 6 foot seas on lake michigan at near 90 MPH and it runs leval and true and just crushes the waves

The reverse Chine works real well in the turns at a high speed
