DELRAY BEACH, Fla.--A boat crashed into a channel marker in the Intracoastal Waterway near the Seagate Manor condominium early Saturday morning.
There were three people on the boat at the time of the crash.
Authorities say one person was ejected from the boat.
Coast Guard crews searched the water for about an hour before discovering the victim's body.
"We'll look at everything. We'll try and figure out what they were doing out riding around at 2:30, 3:00 in the morning. They will look and see if alcohol was or was not involved or if any other substance was involved...if it may be just a plain accident. They'll do a thorough investigation," said Delray Beach police spokesman Jeff Messer.
The victim has been identified as Christopher Patrick Smith, 31, of Boynton Beach. According to officials, Smith was on the boat with his sister and another friend
