Default should I buy a fake block

well its june no motor should I spend 450 on a fake block from summit or does anyone have one I can rent, I want to use my boat this summer, so if I buy the block and heads they said I could hook up the tranny to line up the konrad and make motor mounts and put my headers on to see how the tails need to be made, or wait until the motor is done which could be 2 to 3 weeks before I have it here. so for 450 I would save 2 to 3 weeks or more I quess AND would it be hard to sell after woulds. my new motor is a tall deck my old motor which is here in my baja is a short deck so I didn't want to use it. so what should I do hahaha.

call around your local engine builders, shouldn't be hard to find a real block that is overbored or cracked

Yep cracked blocks are a dime a dozen up here. Typically find 'em as a loaner. Most go for $50 max.

Yeah what's the deal? You don't have that motor yet? Has it hit the dyno?

Get a busted block. The plastic blocks do not like weight on them. My steel engine plate pulled the threads out of the block on the one I used. Add heads, headers, bellhousing and trans and nothing is going to be true.

Hang in there Artie...I'm still waiting for the last parts. What an experience.

We need to start a VICTIMS support group.
