Wondered when someone would mention that.
Randy said that when they tried it at Victory, that he felt it helped with stablility. I am sure that is where the idea came from since Gary is Crew chief for Gieco now.

A basic rule of stability is that the center of aerodynamic pressure has to be BEHIND the center of gravity in any particular axis.
