Hey all,
Just thought I would get some input since I am on the fence of whether or not to paint the Apache Scout I have.... The soon to be wive loves the barbie boat paint job but I have some other Ideas... I am in the middle of replacing all the wood in it... That is a long story in itself that I can post about later. I am getting close to the point were it makes sense to paint it... Should I paint it or not?????
Please respond with any ideas also... :)
Thanks,
Jr.

Yes and several Apaches I've seen...I like those old school cool designs and colors. :) I wouldn't use those designs on a modern boat but the colors are still in vogue. Remember that Ocean Express cat 'Chasin The Deal'? Cool 3D effect in the design.

I truly do like it but would l love to see an updated design on it.. My only objective is it cant look like a Crayon box thrown up on it... :)

I'd imagine if you're going to repaint you'll also be redoing the interior, right???

apache727 06-20-2010 11:26 AM

I voted to keep it original. Mine was repainted before I bought it. I added the logos. It looked really clean but if yours is in good shape I would just leave it

i had wood issues as well (floor)

There is a blue colored Apache that has the best paint I have ever seen on one some of you guy's may of seen it before I have no pictures of it but it is clean and simple and sharp. I think the whole indian thing is a little over played IMO, again IMO

I'd go with something simple. Paint the fairing a solid color to give it a sleeker profile. Then follow up with the same color strip on the hull. Similar to this 28.

I would paint it a solid color. They look cleaner to me that way.

I do like the simplicity of it but just dont want to paint the fairing... I always thought it made it look like a windshield. :) Thanks for the idea.
