Ft. Myers Boat Races
 

Is anyone from OSO going to the Ft. Myers Boat Races...and if so, is anyone getting together for cocktails, after the daily events?
Also, there was a boat show last yr...Are they doing that again this yr.?

We'll be there if we don't go to Skaterfest.... still debating....prob end up flipping a coin... although an offer to ride in that thunder may help us decide. :D :D

I'm kinda in the same boat..my bro lives in Cape Coral and wants me to come boating with him for the race...still not sure...

Keep an eye out for a 24' white & purple V with twin O/B's..."Lunatic Fringe"...I'll post if I'm going...love to meet some more OSO people!

So who would be up for a run to Cabbage Key or Barnicle Bills for a bite and a refreshment. Tracy and I would be up for just stopping at Cayo Costa and hang out for the after noon. If the current isn't too strong you can beach your boat there. Off the stern when beached its almost 20' deep there. Or could go up the beach to Big Carlos Pass and do the same thing. Or hang out in front of the Lani Ki with all the other weekend boaters. Give some input if anybody wants to do anything.

All in all................you'll get better boat rides at Skater Fest....and learn more.............. At most races, the participants "don't have time", ditto the officials et al............... Skaterfest is a relaxed environment with world class hardware and lots of racers, builders, and generally nice people whose only goal is to answer your questions and show you neat stuff.

Of course, I'm biased....but I did sleep through Ft Myers for the past five years......... and that was with the bigger (APBA) fleet;)
