Did you replace both the mechanical and electric pumps? With no pressure it wont run. Is it low pressure? Also make sure there isnt gas in the oil of the mechanical pump. It will wear the pump and wont run right above 2000rpm. Tkae the vapor can apart and make sure its clean.

your ECM could be bad also. I had to replace one of mine on my 502s. Since I have 2 engines it was fairly easy to narrow down the problme to the ECM.

Yes we had pres. at 2300 when the eng. started to carry on and miss. I was told if one inj. is bad it could take out the hole bank.
And yes im almost leening to a bad ecu.

Im going to pull the inj again and run them to flagship marine and have them checked.

Maybe run the whole boat up and have them put it on the computer. It will tell you what is wrong in a min.

I had a scenario exactly like that and mine turned out to be a valve that was stuck in the head (new heads and new valves). It was actually missing all the time but you couldn't tell it until around 2500 rpm's under a load which led me to go through all the electrical first like you have. I would suggest you run a compression or leak down test, or at least pull the valve covers and make sure all the valves are opening and closing, since it sounds like you've be over everything else.

This isnt 1 dead hole its like the eng hit the rev. limter. you cant pin point it.

I have the scaner for the mercs. everything looks good. it keeps throughing a map sen. code. changed the map and still the same thing. could be the bigger cam he put in.

If you set the timeing to 8 deg. its hard to turn over like the timeing is way advanced or someone uped the comp. The guy did say it had a compleat new bot. end
Drop the timeing back to 6 deg and boom fires right up and purrs like a kitten.

FIXED!!!!!!!! New ecu. Thanks to Bob Sutter in NC.for hooking up a brother and sending one down.

With the amount of ****ed up **** on this boat there is now way this dumb **** ran this boat. He said it ran 78-80 mph every day. Now, I know better a stock 502 with a little cam. 70-72mph stock . This thing never ran!! The paint was burning off the eng. like a new one.

So to the guy that sold this boat to my friend. And YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!!!!!! this is not over. You told him this boat was ready to run and he took your word for it. And he wanted to use it on his vacation thanks to you he was boatless!! Ill see you around!!!
