Lycoming TSIO-540 = fairly modern aircraft engine turbo-supercharged-injected-opposed 540 ci.

The supercharger is for low end they should uncouple at a set rpm we had some on the military boats but the drives were the weak point.

If you like that our new boat is going to have diesels in it - shame we're the wrong side of the pond! BMW 3 litre derived Yanmars - 260hp a side and over 70mph with ASD6's - we hope!

By the way they are big heavy engines for not very much HP - 570kg / 230hp against 260hp / 319kg for the latest Yanmars that we're fitting ..................
