ALWAYS either spend the $$ to fly and seas trial the boat with your mechanic or surveyor!!! Anything less is pretty stupid on the buyers part. I would only make an exception if you have an extremely close friend near the boat and can rely on them to do right by you and have them inspect and demo the boat.

Intead of using an escrow service, and if you are using financing, have the Marine Finance Company hold the downpayment check until the loan proceeds check is ready to go. I have done this on several occasions for friends who were buying boats. Also, if you are financing make sure you use a very reputible and well respected finance company!

Stay away from the small "fly by night" companies.

thanks dave he is buying from me thats why the escrow its the route he wants to go we have been going back and fourth for weeks with pic and questions he feels ok about it i just neever used a escrow when selling want to understand how it works and is there anyone near brick i can use to do it

looks like is getting a hauler and when he gets here and sees the boat he will wire the fund to my acct and when i see it in my acct i will release the boat and the title
