TOMS RIVER — A 20-year-old Hewitt man ran his boat aground at Hanken's Island, sparking a search by air, land and sea after he could not be found, New Jersey State Police said Joe Bove's boat ran aground sometime before 10 p.m. Saturday and Bove apparently walked away from the vessel.

He was later found at a home in Ocean County, but not before a search of the Barnegat Bay area was conducted by State Police aviation and marine division troopers with the help of boats of several Toms River fire companies, State Police said.

No further information was available.
