deadliest catch and phil harris

Watched the shows tonight and that sea was incredible while he was sick.

after he passed away the sea was dead calm.

Just incredible how things happen sometimes.

The tribute show was very cool as well and really showed how great a guy he was and how well respected

It is incredible. I've been in and around the funeral business my entire life and witness occurrences like that all the time. I could write a book that would shiver your spine!

I suspect that there were not too many dry eyes watching that show last night...

RIP, Phil.

Those seas were INCREDIBLE. I could not imagine being out there, even in ships of those size; especially after hearing what happened to his Dad's ship years ago.

Two good episodes. He will be missed.

I watched both episodes as well. He lived a HARD life in terms of booze, drugs, hookers, bikes, etc. Imagine making $130K in a month as a teenager in the late 70's? I'd be an A-hole with the money too!

It was a tear jerker My wife was balling! I got her hooked on Deadliest Catch a couple years ago. They should win a most dramatic series award for this years show's. Party on Phil...

Quite a story. Best of luck to the boys...I'm sure the Hillstrands will help them through this. They seem like good guys too
RIP Captain Harris

Shame that Captain Phil died, but he definatly Lived !

I do have to say...

As much as I have come to re-like the show, I think it's on purpose. The editors can make timing and story come together however they want. The storm and timing of Phil's death may not have coincided. The viewership tends to "legend-ize" these guys; and I'm not saying without reason. For those of you who have watched the show for years, I think you can tell that the show changed from a documentary to a real-life drama series as the producers and editors tuned their learning curve. It's still well done, and those fisherman have balls that clank.
