Default intercooler

I have been thinking of putting a procharger on my hp 465 carbed 502. If i want to run low boost 3.5 do i need to use a intercooler . Just trying to get some feed back on this thanks

If at all possible, you should always try to use an intercooler. It is free horsepower and adds a margin of engine safety to any setup.

The 465 was designed to run on 89 octane. 3.5 lbs of boost and 93 octane sounds safe to me without an intercooler. Don't forget to add extra fuel. Running lean = engine death.

They make an intercooler that fits off to the side. The space infront is not a big issue.
