Default Big HP Cat's and Cruise

What are you guys turning to run 100? It seems that most of the big cats are constantly turning 4500+ to get the hull lifting. Anybody running 100MPH at 4k or less?

Obviously piston power only here.

I have a few customers with Vees that are really close to 100 mph at 4000 rpm. I have also done a few cats that were over 100 at 4K rpms. They would have to exceed 4000 rpm to get the boat to take a set and then they could back off and run 105-110 at 4000 rpm. A few were Nortech cats, both 36 and 43.

I run 100 at 4050rpm in an MTI 42. That was before I changed my gear ratio from 1.35 to 1.24.
