GM or Mercury? I thought GM killed the 8.1 in lew of the new small blocks.
Nice looking rig thirdchildhood...keep an eye on those headers.

Thanks, I did pressure test the headers and they are supposed to be the "new" style. And, yes, the 496 is history. White elephants!

dude ive been working for GM for the last 25 years we never see problems with 8.1--496 engines.
