I have always thought that Ned's pic of Motley Crew and Amsoil airborne side-by-side was as good as it would get. Now I found a set I think is close. Click on them for larger view.

Just back from Uddevalla in Sweden, the place where this happened: Relecta/Zabo Racing did a spin in turn one, Fazza hit her right behind the canopy (close call), and was airborne (from video looked about 30 feet). All drivers are ok. Fazza raced again today...

LaughingCat 08-09-2010 08:45 AM

So was it the prop wash from the spinning white boat or did they launch of the rear corner of the white boat? White boat damage would indicate a launch.

Brad Zastrow 08-09-2010 08:55 AM

Looks to me that the rooster tail of boat in the lead was caught in the tunnel which caused the lift off. Boat wake will not do that to a race boat.

That's gotta be what happened. http://smiliesftw.com/x/eek3.gif

If you cut into the roost of another boat too close in a cat, it can definitely stand you up! Tres has some WILD videos in his class of these types of situations http://smiliesftw.com/x/ohhhPOOPOO.gif

BY U BOY 08-09-2010 01:30 PM

What caused the white boat to spin out? Mechanical or rudder failer?
