JBS in hospital

After a rough and wild race in Michigan city Jeff Stevenson has been hospitalized at Saint Anthony medical center in Michigan city for a possible kidney stone that may have been rattled loose during the race. Hope to have more info from the medical staff shortly.
JBS racing would like to give a big thank you to Michigan City, the MCPD, all rescue personel, and SBI.
Also a great job by all people involved in the rescue of Lisa Mathews.

LISA M. was transported out of the local hospital, that JEFF was at tonight, for further examination.

what an EMOTIONAL ROLLER COASTER ride today. yes our boat was broke...but we knew the engines were ok as we came in with one prop functioning. but, to see LISA M. on a board limp; made every problem JBS Racing has ever had seem so infinitesimal. it was great hearing her voice; as we spoke very shortly after in the hospital room. this was ONLY possible because a police officer, personally here in MI City, tracked her for us. got us a direct number and the name of her nurse so we could be updated.

as we were sitting with STAN (one amazing person) and JACKIE (even more amazing as she deals with him) WARE at the awards. JEFF went from laughing to needing a wheelchair in no time flat! by the time we got him to the hospital he was in so much pain it's hard to put into words what i felt. he was puking, shaking uncontrollably, and sweating buckets. i was trying to keep him cool with cold cloths, wiping the puke from his mouth and nose; while they were bagging him with some heavy pain med's.

after the completed cats; they found it to in fact be a kidney stone. none the less, it was hard to see someone you care about in that state of pain... and jeff and i, r of the type that would be laughing at a compound fracture.

waiting for this ambian to kick in!...i would very much like to awake to hear/see some good news about LISA M. and JEFF!!!

HUGE THANKS TO the city people of MI CITY! police, fire, hospital, uscg, officials. no doubt the racing safety crew too!!!

this city and event blew me away! key west, st.clair, mi city are races that every fan and racer need to experience!!!

I know the kidney stone pain. I woke up a few years ago thinking I was dying and wondering how in the hell this badger got into my abdomen.

Jumping jacks are what got me through. When the KS is stuck in the urinary tract, a little bit more bouncing will get it into the bladder. Then you drink a ton of water to reduce or dissolve it.

Glad to hear everyone will be OK.

DriverofDonzi 08-09-2010 08:05 AM

Audacity,

Thanks for the updates. I am hoping that both Lisa and Jeff are on the right road to recovery! I have diabetes for 26 years and right now, I have problems with my kidneys. I feel your pain. It;s no fun at all.

Hang in there, you'll get better!

Chris

Good to hear Jeff and Lisa are ok.

That's wild to hear...Jeff was fine when we saw you guys just before the awards!

purrfection 08-09-2010 08:27 AM

Jeff, please be careful with that kidney stone.Unfortunately, I have kidney disease and have had many kidney stones. The last one was 3 weeks ago-11 mm. They broke it up, but I'm still feeling the pain and fighting infection. I wouldn't wish a kidney stone on my worst enemy. I feel your pain, please get yourself a good doctor and BE CAREFUL!!! Here's to a quick recovery, for both of us.

obnoxus 08-09-2010 09:07 AM

Had one last year before I knew what kidney stones were.

It was the worst pain I had ever been through,,,,, these things are no joke,,,,and the size of a grain of sand.

Hope ya feel better soon !!!!!

Magic Medicine 08-09-2010 09:10 AM

Hi, had one 3 years ago on the right side and it was really tiny ,but enough to put me down on the floor in pain , then got one 3 months ago on left side as it made me wake up at 6am and had to call ambulance ,arrived home and slept most of the day after injection they gave me and felt sick when i woke up , they are so small that on the ultra sound it cant be seen, Doc says that after 4mil it can be seen on screen and they concider it a kidney stone . to be honnest i still dont know if i passed them both. i wish i did as its the worst i experianced . funny enough like mate said here i also got the pain in the morning on both occasions, whatever position u try to get into whiles on pain ,wont work ,u just wana die .
I dont like water, so i drink juice, Doc says the best is beer to get rid of em, but i dont like it either :)

Catmando 08-09-2010 05:53 PM

You don't like water??? What kind of statement is that??? 96% of your body is water.

iamjoe 08-09-2010 06:21 PM

Ah yes, kidney stones

I had them 5 times; surgery three times, passed them twice. There is no other pain quite like this. They say its worse than giving birth. There are two types; one is calcium based, the most common, very much similar to the plauqe on your teeth. The other are acidic based and similar to gout. Both are brutal but the acidic ones where really the worse pain I've ever experienced. Good Luck and hang on to your azz..............

Comanche3Six 08-09-2010 06:31 PM

Get Well!

Double Down 08-09-2010 06:42 PM

glad you are feeling better buddy, hang in there......after all you have been through this year wouldn't it be ironic if the docs told you "no more racing Jeff" Ha! I can only imagine what your response would be!!

head_dunce 08-09-2010 11:07 PM

Get well soon Jeff!!!
