How hard is it to install a new mega race series guage in place of an old style screw style back. What are the color code of the 4 wires on the Wire Harness with these guages?

I've been wondering the same thing, and I'd think it's pretty easy.
It's much easier probably to work w/ the small connector to attach to the existing dash wiring and then plug into the gauge than to try to screw down the wiring to a whole gauge. Depends on how long the dash wiring is and how tight the space.

they are pretty easy to work with in the installs i have done with them which has been 3 or 4 new boats....
only thing i do is ditch the 12" pigtail and crimp on wires that are long enough to go where i want them to go as well as changing the signal wire to whatever color the guage is for like tan for temp etc....
color code is as follows
Black = Ground
Purple = 12v Key on Power
Blue = Dash lighting
Green = Signal from sender (this is the one i like to change the color to something a little more fitting
heres a 30 skater dash i just did recently using them....
here is a 30 Superboat CC i just finished with them as well....
if your doing a complete rerig of a dash then making your own length pigtails is the way to go....if your refitting then the 12" standard tails will probably come in handy IMHO......
