2002 Cig gladiator whats it worth
Found a 2002 gladiator. The boat has had all motors and drives removed. Also all the steering and gauges. Has a trailer. they are asking 18k. Looks nice other than that. Whats it worth?
|
Is it all white? I think $18K sounds like a good price on a trailer.
|
No its white with blue then orange then the back is red. The interior is nice
|
It sounds like it could be great deal. The real issue is it would take another 50-75k to make it turn key.
|
guy i know sold his 03' Lip-ship w/staggered 525's for around $90K. The boat was in showroom condition and not a distress sale at all. People will say he was crazy, but how many other Glads have actually moved in recent memory, and at what price?
|
yeah I can get motors and drives for around 40k. I own a marina so my guys can do the work this winter while they are laid off. plus steering is around 3k. shifters and gauges another 2k. Might be fun to beat around while i have it forsale.
|
I thought I knew every Glad out there but I'm drawing a blank.

The first pleasure one/ Jeff Chengs old boat.
|
It says minimum Bid $18,500, national has not been known to take the minimum bid.
|
how did it run? What motors did it have? I know they had problems with the 36 turning. Bob bulls was prob the best running one around. Tres did a lot of work to it. Fig this would be great here in AC NJ with the big waves.
|
good looking boat, but damn it is stripped clean but the seats.
|
I just spoke to them. This is an insurance boat. I am going to offer 12k on mon. Whats the worst they can do, say no. Oh well. My friend is going to look at the boat tomorrow. I know they have that talon listed for big money and sold it for 40k less then it was listed for.

Threads from back in the day about this boat:
http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/c...gladiator.html http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/g...ing-today.html What was the insurance claim? Theft or splash? If it's been sitting outside for a while sans cover; and/or it got worse-wet--expect to see some interior rot. The first few had a LOT of plywood in the cockpit. |

The best one around is Phil's 700 NXT boat.

I have found buying a boat from National, weather offering the asking price, more, or less, to be basically impossible.
I've been told you basically have to just show up with cash, everything else feels like a huge runaround. |
Ahh, Mr. Cheng's former ride. The U-Boat. :party-smiley-004:

Very well taken care of. Sad to see it in that shape. Insurance job or repo? Either way, sad. |
Hey Sam. Yeah I am trying to see if I can get this cheap. i have to wait until to , thats when they submit the bids. My old throttle man Lance lives out there so he is going to take a look at it and send me pics.

any info on a donor boat?

Good luck with National! Usually you find out after you buy the boat that the trailer wasnt part of the deal or there is some other snag. Also take a good look at that boats history, It has seen the fishes view of Lake Havasu. I droive by yesterday and took saw it on the lot and was planning on taking a better look before I remembered the boat had history.
|
You would be way better off buying a turn key, no history boat for 75-100K. Even finished this boat will have same the history. The interior was re-done but doesn't look great and the lack of Cig logos indicates is wasn't a great job to begin with.
The all white Gladiator w/whipples looks like a great turn key boat vs. a project like this! |

Always liked that boat except for the narrow cockpit. It was hell on my shoulders driving that thing.
The Redux def looks sweet. Lay off the steroids and you will fit in the boat! :D |
